At the rear, the body is mounted on the cast iron shock absorber mounts using bolts. Due to the torsion of the body, this connection would start to move with resulting creaking and squeaking noises, so rubber blocks are mounted here to prevent this.
The body is clamped between two rubbers, one between the shock mount and the body support and the other between the body support and the locking plate.
From 8.1971 onwards, there is a spacer fitted to ensure that the rubber blocks are set to the correct tension. From this year on, the upper pads are the same as the lower ones, if you have to replace everything, you need four of them. The pads should not be loose but also not pressed flat, so the spacers should be slightly shorter.
Note : If the mounting bracket has to be removed to renew the underlying sheet metal, it is very difficult to fit it back to the millimeter, which is why these blocks are thicker than necessary, namely 15 mm. They can be cut to the right size with a sharp knife. Now don't forget to check the metal spacers for the correct length.
