During the hot summer months, the engine of the Volkswagen Beetle has a lot to endure. To avoid overheating, there are many complicated solutions, but you can also provide the engine with more cooling in a very economical and efficient way. The easiest way to do this is to make sure that the top of the engine lid does not close completely, so that the wind can freely access the engine compartment. The cooling kit consists of two aluminium adapters that are placed between the hinges that keep the lid open at the top.
The cover spring is omitted when these adapters are fitted, but the lock remains intact.
Supplied complete with mounting hardware.
Note : If you own a 1966 Volkswagen Beetle equipped with American bumpers (with guardrails) or the combination of a long hood with American bumpers, then the engine lid touches the bumper. You could solve this problem by moulding the mounting slots into the bumper brackets so that the bumper can be moved further back.
