Most Volkswagen luxury Buses intended for passenger transport or used as motorhomes are often equipped with chrome bumpers. But the Volkswagen utility Buses functioned as a work tool for which this luxury is not available, with this type of Bus the bumpers are simply painted white or black.
In the early days, the bolt heads of the painted bumpers were visible, as on the chrome bumpers, and had a convex shape. From the 1973 model year onwards, these bumpers were fitted with a simple hexagonal head on which a plastic finishing cap was in the colour of the bumper. The plastic cap of the VW Bay Window has always been white and that of the VW Vanagon black.
Note : Make sure that the edge of the cap is not damaged, a small scratch will cause the cap to tear immediately after assembly, or a few days later.
