The ball joint provides the mobile connection between the suspension lever and the spindle, and the ball joint must adjust the rotational movement and absorb the entry and exit movement of the suspension lever. A rubber cover protects the ball joint from dirt and moisture and also retains the grease that lubricates it.
The grease in the ball joint is essential for long-lasting operation without excessive wear, the grease forms a film between the ball and the bowl and thus prevents metal-to-metal contact. Metal-to-metal contact will damage the ball and bowl, resulting in excessive wear.
Note : Sand the support arm where the ball joint is to be inserted. If you need more than 2 tons of pressure to mount this ball joint, do not force it, but remove a small edge. If you do not, the ball joint will get stuck, making driving difficult and can lead to dangerous situations.
Never use grease when pressing and leave the notch in the edge of the ball joint in the driving direction. Ball joints without a notch are directionless, in this case you don't have to take into account the direction.
If the old truncated ball joint has a 45° arrow-shaped groove next to the direction of travel, it is an oversized ball joint. If this is the case, you will have to replace the torsion arm (if available under the "related parts" tab), oversized torsion arms are not available.
Note : Do not use with cars that have been lowered or raised by a lowered front axle, use the modified parts listed under the "alternatives" tab.
