If the vehicle is equipped with an electric fuel pump, the existing hole in the sump must be sealed. Various cover plates are available for this purpose, all with the main purpose of sealing the fuel pump hole.
The aluminum cover plates are supplied with their seal, while the stainless steel ones must be ordered extra (see "Options" tab).
Stainless steel cover plate
If you just want to close the fuel pump hole, this cover plate is ideal. Made of stainless steel, it is the only one that is also available for Type 4 engines. Installation is easy, remove the threaded ends and mount the cover plate with M8 bolts (not included).
Billet Style Cover Plate
Same as the stainless steel plate, but provides a better finish. This cover plate is made of heavy gauge aluminum with the familiar Billet Style ribs on top. It comes complete with gasket and pan head bolts countersunk into the plate.
Cover Plate with Crankcase Venting Capability
In addition to sealing the fuel pump hole, this cover plate has an additional function, it is equipped with a crankcase venting connection with a 1/4 inch thread. The cover plate is not yet drilled, so you can always connect the crankcase vent after the fact, if you don't think you need it in the first place. Like the Billet copy, this plate is also aluminum and comes with a gasket. It is mounted directly to the crankcase using the existing M8 nuts with which the fuel pump was attached.
