The correct positioning of the crank seal saves a lot of effort later on, there is no one who would want to do it a second time. So don't take any risks and use the right tools.
Two types of tools are available for the crank seal behind the flywheel of the type 1, type 3, CT or CZ engines.
The standard model is intended for engines equipped with the original crankshaft with standard length dowel pins, this model is also equipped with a clamping bolt.
There is also an extra deep model for crankshafts with longer dowel pins. On this model, you first press the crank seal with the flat part until it touches the dowel pins, then use the other side and press the crank seal further in. This extra deep mounting tool is supplied without clamping bolt, use your flywheel bolt for this purpose.
For type 4 engines, a similar tool is available, only for the crank seal on the pulley side.
