From 1968, the VW1300 and VW1500 and later also the VW1302 and VW1303 were equipped with a ventilation system, where only the most luxurious models have an electric hot air blower, the standard versions had a ventilation system that operates only by natural air circulation. It was only in 1976 that the VW1200 was equipped with it, but only with the most luxurious models.
The natural wind is brought in by a grille in the boot lid that is distributed via a ventilation box behind the dashboard to the left and right openings in the dashboard. For a well-functioning system, it is important that the boot lid closes securely on the ventilation box and this rubber ensures this.
The rubber is supplied round but will take its final oval shape once assembled.
